Rody Manning, Friday, 5 February 2021 Today was just another of those great days for bowls. Our playing format was 4 bowls Pairs over 2 games of 11 ends each with game 2 being winners v winners. We welcomed visitors John Sullivan & Gary Barton. Plus John Cosentino with his well-maintained moustache came out of nowhere to be back on his old turf again. It was nice to have a visit from another of our Friday sponsors - Michael Buckley (First National Real Estate – The Forest) who called in for a drink & chat after the days play.
The results were:-
• Brett Jenkins & Geoff Godfrey - Winners (cash prize) - 2 wins, 14 ends won, margin of +12. Very worthy champions who played very well to take out a couple of much more experienced teams.
• Karen Lees & Garry Bradbury - Runners Up (cash prize) – 2 wins, 11 ends won, margin of +8. They were in the strongest section and played very good bowls as a team to overcome the higher ranked opposition.
• John Cormio & Gary Barton - 3rd Place (wine vouchers) – 2 wins, 11 ends won, margin of +4. John engaged at great expense the services of an Asquith player to try & snare the cash but had to settle for our Belrose vineyard top shelf wine. Well done & thanks for joining us Gary.
Thanks to Barrenjoery Smash Repairs for this week’s sponsorship it is greatly appreciated.
The Cash Jackpot had reached $160 and the lucky player drawn out was Graham Stewart. Unfortunately he did not draw out his rink number - bad news. However there is good news as that jackpot will jackpot again next week – for a chance to win big $$’s at Belrose be here next week.
Thanks to all of today’s players for your support. Special thanks to the helpers Ian, Geoff & Richard.
We hope to see you all next week. The bowling format will be Round Robin 3 bowls Pairs, 3 games of 9 ends each. Everyone is welcome. Place team names on the registrationsheet at the club (by 4pm Thursday) or phone/text our Friday bowls phone on 0490 503 025 (up to 9:30am Friday).
