The Running of the Bulls 2020

Andy Little, Saturday, 21 November 2020

Before we comment on the success of the day, we want to congratulate the following on their recent big celebrations, Kaye & Ken Alderton being engaged 50 years ago, Sarah Comio turning 50, Max & Ronda Thomas 50 years married, Lindsay Morris/Gerry Muoio turning 80 and Ray Brady the big 90.

Also, yesterday we disposed of a lot of preloved uniforms with donations sought for the Rex Cochrane appeal. The amounts collected, along with the contents of the wrong bias tin, will be forwarded to Rex and Mary shortly. Spider/Guv & Ed met Rex in Parkes at a big bowling carnival a few weeks ago and we hope to see Rex & Mary visit us in the new year. Donations are still most welcome.

It was great to see 72 players on the greens and in the club house while we were waiting the 4 sections play results, prior to the Sudden Death 1 end shoot out, the quarter finals 2 ends play off, followed by the 2 ends semi-finals and finals. The weather was very warm and the greens were outstanding.

The Semi-Finals winners were Maggie Murphy & Peter Ward, Shane “Boom” Quinn & Brad Franklin and they each received a bottle of wine.

Runners Up were Warren Bee & Ken Alderton and they received $25 worth of club points and a valuable Bulls trophy each.

Overall grand Bulls winners were Colin Horne and John Venteman and they received $50 of club points and a bigger Bulls trophy each.

The day was one of our highlights of the year, bringing together the club members and I am sure all members and supporters will join me in thanking Rody and his small team of Peter Spray and Graham Hartmann for all the hard work in arranging this day.

Again, well done Rody and team and thank you all players for joining in and those that had their names on the reserve list.
