Women's End-of-Year Fun Bowling Day
Eleanor Swain, Daphne Menzies & Pat Mills having fun
Patricia Blume, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 Women’s End-of-Year Fun Bowling Day
The last bowling day on the Women’s Club calendar is traditionally a ‘fun day’ and this year was no exception. Many of the ladies acknowledged Christmas by wearing colourful hats, earrings, badges etc, and this certainly made the green look very bright and festive. Games of triples and fours were played and after every few ends, the players would rotate position. This meant that everyone on the green was able to experience playing all positions. This does create interesting situations when our newest players are in the position of skip, and also when our longest playing members who are always skips, are suddenly leads and have to remember how to put down a jack. We were very lucky too to have a great morning weatherwise which always makes for a more comfortable day.
The day was sponsored by CT Healthcare, and after lunch we had a presentation by Marianne from the company. She also provided a gift which was won by Lynne Newland, and then assisted in the drawing of individual winners.
