2017 - Pennant Results Rd9
It was another disappointing result for the Bulls today.
Grade 1 at home to Ashfield. They suffered their third loss of the season going down on all three rinks. The big board finished at 78 - 38, not a pretty sight. They remain on 39 points and 3rd on the ladder.
Grade 2 away at St Ives. The team played well getting up on the three rinks 70 - 36. Unfortunately we remain in 3rd on the ladder with 52.5 points.
Grade 3 at home to Pittwater. We were expecting a showdown today however we were not up to it. The side went down 65 - 38 and lost on all three rinks. The team remain on 35.5 points overall and slipped to 5th on the ladder.
Grade 5 also at home to St Ives in a must win match. However it was to be another match that got away from us. The guys won two rinks however one was hammered going down by 15. The big board favoured St Ives 65 - 59. We are now placed third on the ladder with 52.5 points.
Grade 6 away to the hapless Warrawee, who have not won a match this season. They really made a match of it on two rinks and we were fortunate to get in front over the last two ends. Doug Murphy's rink had a blinder winning by 29 shots. Therefore we picked up 10 points. Overall the team has 49 points and climbed one rung to be placed 3rd on the ladder.
Grade 7 away to Gordon in another must win match to keep their chances alive. They were feeling confident as the opposition had only won one game. However it brought out their best and although we won two rinks another went down by 29 shots. We could not recover from that and the big board favoured the opposition 68 - 59. With one game to play there is still a very slim chance on making it to the final. The Bowls God will have to favour the Bulls next week, they are on 49 points and 3rd on the ladder.
