JACK ATTACK - Belrose pilots new bowls format

Michael Harvey, Tuesday, 1 April 2014

Jack Attack is a new, innovative format for lawn bowls being proposed by Bowls Australia in an endeavour to make the game more attractive to prospective players and Belrose club has been chosen by BA to pilot the game in Sydney. It is described as 'a new, exciting, short, sharp & snappy way to play lawn bowls'. (shades of 20/20 cricket).

Teams of 3 play 2 bowl triples over 2 sets of 5 ends with a POWER PLAY end in each set where any shots scored are doubled. Each game only lasts one hour! The format is based on the new Australian Premier League Competition as seen on Fox Sports.

The first game will be played at 6pm on Friday 11th April at Belrose and each side can have a Super Sub in their team or call on Belrose's English International Stave Halmai to play a bowl for their team. It's mufti and music will be playing throughout the match so this is a great opportunity to introduce a friend to try bowls and have a fun evening.
